Solar Financial Analysis

There are various solar financial analysis calculators available, both public and private, that attempt to help make the decision of whether or not to install a solar photovoltaic system easier. The purpose of this report is to provide a preliminary screening of some of the public solar financial analysis calculators that can be expanded upon by SolarTech later. We feel that this screening is necessary to determine if there is a solar financial analysis calculator available that could be implemented as an industry standard best practice, and if not, then determine if there are attributes from various calculators that should be included in an industry standard calculator. SolarTech believes that an industry standard “good faith” financial analysis calculator is necessary, and this analysis should aid in understanding the elements that make for a great tool.
